About Us
Kent and Cay Hutton have been in the jewelry business for
many years, and combined they have over 50 years in jewelry experience.
It all started when Kent worked his way through college selling jewelry. Later, Cay convinced Kent to let her do his gift wrapping during the Christmas season, and they've been together ever since! They had a jewelry store together in Roswell New Mexico for 14 years. No, they didn't see any aliens, but their dog, Hapa resembles Yoda! Kent & Cay made the "big move" to Maui 16 years ago. When they first arrived, Kent managed a jewelry store, and Cay dabbled in an art gallery for a while. They saw a need for a unique fine jewelry store on Maui and on St. Patrick's day, 1997 Hutton's Fine Jewelers of Maui opened in Kahana, West Maui. Our manager, Cathy von Martynow was with us that first day, and has stayed with us ever since! Originally from South Africa, Cathy and her husband Claus (he's from Austria) moved to Maui to open the Hyatt, where Claus was the head pastry chef. Cathy worked in various positions around the island before she became part of the Hutton's family. She is an accomplished free diver and spear fisherwoman. The Hutton's chose Kahana for the perfect weather and location. Located between Kaanapali and Kapalua, the weather is always nice! With cooling trades and just enough rain to keep things beautiful, it is truly a paradise.
